Hardcore Prayer Request

This morning Tuesday May 12, I got laid off for a "Reduction in Task Force" Can't say I didn't see it coming as I haven't been billable the last month. One employee got laid off two weeks ago, I knew I was next as I'm the youngest/least experienced left. Well it happened, and now my world has turned upside down.

Who knows what Im going to do as Architecture is a horrible occupation to be in right now, finding a firm that is going to hire someone new is going to be impossible.

Please keep us in your prayers as it's going to get interesting...again.

a LITTLE color

Steve decided a few weeks ago he wanted to paint the living room. I thought about colors for a few days, and decided I wanted something bright like teal. We went to Home Depot, and I picked a color called Mermaid Treasure. He looked at it and said no way! We took about 10 different color choices home (a little of everything) and hung them all up on the wall. One by one we took down the colors we didn't like. We were left with Mermaid Treasure!

I wanted to do the TV nitch and the plant shelf a shade darker than the main wall, so the shade darker on the card was Peacock Feather. Steve wasn't so sure about it, but we got them anyway.

Last Sunday we did the TV niche and really liked it, but it made Steve even more nervous about painting the main wall.

He also took the opportunity to hide the flat screen wires in the wall. Nice job!

I did all the rest of the painting on Saturday while he was out. (Except about the top 4 feet above the fireplace because I'm too short even with the Little Giant Ladder!) I love it! Steve is working on it :) I think it will be even better if we ever get hard wood floors, which has also been in discussion. Here are some pictures.

The camera was being kind of stupid, so they are kind of blurry.

We are running!

Steve is running, I am mostly pretending to run, knowing it might be actual running one day if I keep at it :) We went to Runner's Roost and had a foot analysis to find the perfect running shoe for us. It was really neat. They tested us on about 8 different things (9 if you are female). My results were perfect on everything, and Steve's were all messed up. Kind of funny since he is the runner. We both got the shoes they recommended. We are thinking of running the Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon in August. With my 2 weeks of "running" I don't think I'll be able to, they will close down the course before I am done! My training plan starts on May 18th. We will see how it goes!
